FROM 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS TO LAZY BEACH DAYS
With 4th of July weekend just around the corner, there is no shortage of things to do in Sarasota and the surrounding areas. It marks the 250th year of our country, making this an extra special year packed with lots to see and do. We will highlight some of the major events going on, but we will also start highlighting some local areas, bars, restraunts ,activities, and what makes area so special. From Downtown Sarasota, Rosemary District, Southgate, Hillview, and so many more. There truly is something for every taste, age, or interest. So our new series, SATURDAY'S IN SARASOTA, will be an additional blog. If you are a local vendor and have any special events, regular activities, or just want us to come check you out, drop a line. Even as local , the things to do and options are endless.
FOURTH OF JULY 2026 - THE BIGGEST YET
This year's Fourth of July lands on a Saturday and coincides with America's 250th Anniversary - the Semi quincentennial - which means celebrations across the region are going to be bigger than ever
FITRTEWORKS ON THE LAKE AT NATHYAN BENDERSON
This is the area's most popular kickoff event, actually happening on July 3rd, with live music starting at 5:30 pm, food trucks, a Mote Marine kid's zone and the fireworks show over the lake just after 9 pm. General admission is free with paid parking and VIP packages with Finish Tower access are available for those who want to upgrade. Our partner company Ms. Butlers Luxury Concierge Service is also available to help from planning a beach day or fishing trip, as well as welcome packages, and much more.
SELBY GARDENS
On July 4th itself, Selby Gardens hots their longstanding Bayfront Tradition, with lawn games, the Spheres Bubble Show by Blaise Rhynds, local food vendors, and a fireworks finale over Sarasota Bay. You can do general admission ($ 35 adults) with food a' la carte, or go all in with the All - Inclusive package ($200 adults) which includes a Michaeal's on East buffet, open bar, and air-conditioned event center seating with a Prime Fireworks view.
BRADENTON RIVERWALK
Bradenton's celebration spreads across Rossi Park, the Riverwalk, and Downtown for is billed as the largest fireworks display in the area. Live music by Twinkle in Rossi Park, Luna and the Warriors on the downtown stage, a kid's area on the Great Lawn and food vendors throughout.
BARRIER ISLANDS
Heading to one of the islands? Longboat Key hots their 23rd Annual Freedom Fest Parade, Venice brings back their beloved 4th of July Parade and Picnic. In Bradenton, Fiorelli Winery's Red, White & Blueberry Festival runs 2pm - 10 pm at the Music on the vines on CR 675. With live music, BBQ, vendors, and Florida grown wine. Parking is $10 and admission is free.
LAKEWOOD RANCH / UTC AREA
If you are looking for a completely different experience this year, be sure to stop by Waterside Place in Lakewood Ranch, offering the only drone show in the area. A 9pm display with no traditional fireworks, making it ideal for families with small children or noise-sensitive guests.
SUMMER CIRCUS SPECTACULAR AT THE RINGLING
One of Sarasota's most beloved summer traditions is back. The Circus Arts Conservatory and The Ringling have partnered once again to present the Summer Circus Spectacular at the Historic Asolo Theater, running Saturday, June 13th through Saturday, August 8th. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under, with the option to add Circus Museum admission for $5 more. Expect juggling, aerial acts, clowning, hand balancing, and duo trapeze from performers who have competed in Monte Carlo and appeared on America's Got Talent. This is hands down one of the best family outings on the Gulf Coast all summer long.
SOTHERN SOUL RIB AND SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
The Southern Soul and Rib Festival brings a vibrant celebration of culture, cuisine, and community to The Manatee County Fairgrounds, serving up the South's finest BBQ and Seafood alongside live music and local performances. It's a family-friendly event with general admission tickets around $25 and kids 12 and under free. It's loud, delicious, and a perfect excuse to invite friends from the north.
SUNCOAST LARGEST FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL
The Suncoast's largest food truck festival returns to University Town Center for Independence Day weekend. With 30+ vendors spanning BBQ, tacos, burgers, seafood, Brazilian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Caribbean, and more. Free admission, easy parking, and something for every palate - this one is a summer staple worth putting on repeat.
